A LEGAL CAREER IN SOCIAL SECURITY LAW

REPRESENTING CLIENTS AT THE SOCIAL ENTITLEMENT CHAMBER AND UPPER TRIBUNAL (AAC)

The Tribune Legal Practice welcomes applications from law graduates wishing to pursue a career as a social security law paralegal. Academic or vocational legal training is essential. Candidates need to have any of the following: a law degree, LLM, the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course, or any courses preparing for the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Single Qualifying Exam 1 and 2. Particularly appreciated will be candidates that have studied Public Law, Administrative Law, Judicial Review, the administrative justice system, or any social science module related to these subjects as part of their legal qualification.

Previous experience of presenting social security tribunals is appreciated, though not strictly essential. New candidates will have a two year training period, under close supervision of the Principal Paralegal, until at the end of the training period the requisite competencies will have been demonstrated in order to secure continued employment.
